President Joe Biden signed, on July 8, an executive order that aimed to secure a woman’s so-called right to abort her child. This presidential meddling, as we all know, comes in the immediate wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s explication that a constitutional right to infanticide never existed.

Of course, it’s Biden’s prerogative to pontificate ad nauseam about how “off” the Supreme Court was. But just because the stuffed-shirt president claims a woman enjoys the right to assassinate her own child does not make it so! He obviously failed to learn the grammar school lesson that simply shouting a falsehood at the top of your lungs does not magically make it true.
Sleepy Joe’s executive order, delivered with much pomp and accompanied by the stern faces of Vice President Kamala Harris and Health and Human Services secretary Xavier Becerra, ironically accomplished next to nothing. You would have thought by the smiles plastered on their faces they were actually doing something of importance, like lowering the price of a gallon of gas. Now that would be something to shout from the rooftops.
Because the high court overturned Roe, the decision to continue or discontinue the heinous practice of abortion now rests securely in the hands of state governments. Some states, like Missouri (via trigger laws anticipating Roe’s being overturned) have now made abortion completely illegal. And Biden can sign as many executive orders as he wants proclaiming abortion a woman’s “right,” but in states like Missouri, feticide will remain stubbornly illegal.
On the other hand, states under the total control of Democrats (such as Illinois) are working around the clock to facilitate even more abortions within their borders.
At the height of COVID shutdowns in 2020, more than 50,000 abortions were still performed at Illinois’ 29 abortion facilities. And Illinois Democrats are now making hay in the aftermath of Roe and touting their state as a kind of hub of abortion tourism in America’s heartland. Apparently it’s working: Abortion facilities are expanding hours and hiring more staff to keep up with women’s increased demand for snuffing out their offspring. Illinois is now set to break all its former internal records for the number of abortions performed in a single year.

Some predictions are that Illinois, because of the death of Roe, will see 20,000–30,000 more abortions this coming year, thus making Illinois the Midwest’s abortion capital of the United States. Perhaps Illinois’ Democratic governor J.B. Pritzker will raise a new flag over the State Capitol in Springfield to commemorate and advertise this solemn distinction.
Forecasts are that Illinois will witness between 70,000 and 80,000 abortions by the end of 2022. What a grisly prediction! For the entire Vietnam War (which lasted from 1954 to 1975), the United States lost 58,200 soldiers. Illinois abortionists are set to massacre that many, and then some, in less than a year’s time.
Illinois, once known as “The Land of Lincoln,” is now being restructured to be “the land of death.”
I wonder how advertisers will spin the state’s new claim to fame: “Come to Illinois, where abortions are legal and cheap. We can’t make any guarantees for your personal safety in any of our communities during your stay, but we can help with paying for your abortion.”
Biden’s executive order was basically just another public relations stunt to bolster his failing presidency and promote fellow pro-abortion Democrats for the upcoming midterm elections.
With these elections looming and the U.S. economy in a tailspin, attempts by the fake Catholic president to bolster the prospects of fellow Democrats in the midterms won’t make much of a difference. Biden’s symbolic executive order has done little else than incite real Catholics to end abortion once and for all to forswear voting for any Democrat, at any level of government.
Shouting a lie for all to hear does not transform the lie into truth, but it does out the liar for what he is.
Father James Altman said two years ago that “you can’t be Catholic and vote Democrat.”
As an extension of this, I propose a related adage: “You can’t be Catholic and be for abortion.” Being a Catholic and being pro-abortion are mutually exclusive. Catholics believe in God and His laws. Pro-aborts believe in unfettered freedoms given by those in power (or those who think they are in power). With the latter, the Devil is really the one in control.
Now even Biden’s fellow Democrats have come to realize that his numbers are in the toilet and whatever he’s doing is not working. Biden plods on in mediocrity, continuing to voice pointlessly failed Democrat talking points.
Biden, a so-called Catholic president, has emphatically rejected the Catholic Church’s teaching against abortion. What a sham Catholic indeed! I pray, Mr. President, that you repent of your evil ways before it is too late. As you live, so will you be judged.
