Reflections on life, meaning and purpose

St. Fidelis of Sigmaringen, Pray For Us…

When I lived in Switzerland about a decade ago, our family took a trip to the neighboring German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg to see two places: the Benedictine abbey in Beuron, which had given birth to a school of Christian art in the late 19th century, and a quaint little town called Sigmaringen, in the hope of finding something about local-boy-made-beatifically-good, St. Fidelis. We batted .500: a rich visit in Beuron, but perhaps my German was not good enough to find much in Sigmaringen.
