NEW YORK (ChurchMilitant.com) – Tucker Carlson is no longer with Fox News, according to a surprise Monday morning statement.
The announcement was made by Fox media personality Harris Faulkner: “Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have mutually agreed to part ways.”
The popular conservative commentator had been the host of Tucker Carlson Tonight since 2016. It was one of Fox News’ top shows, along with The Five, and helped make Fox News the highest-rated cable news network. In mid-February, Carlson’s show was the highest-rated cable news show, pulling in more than 3.4 million viewers.
Forbes reported, “Carlson helped propel Fox News to its 104th consecutive weekly ratings victory over CNN and MSNBC, with an average prime time audience of 2.5 million viewers and 359,000 viewers in the key [demographic].
Cable news viewership, however, is much smaller than convention network news networks like ABC World News Tonight, which pulls in more than 8 million viewers nightly.
Faulkner, in her announcement, noted “Tucker’s last show was this last Friday.” There was no indication at any time in the broadcast that it would be Carlson’s last. To replace it, Fox News comments that Fox News Tonight, will air in Carlson’s old timeslot “until a permanent replacement for Carlson is named.”
It will be hosted by “a rotation of various Fox News personalities.”
Carlson, on Friday, gave the keynote address at the Heritage Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala. He noted, “the country’s really going at high speed in the wrong direction,” and slammed the LGBT ideology that is permeating the West.
“The weight of the government and a lot of corporate interests are behind transgenderism. None of this makes sense in conventional political terms.”
Carlson continued, “You have people who are saying “I have an idea, let’s castrate the Next Generation, let’s sexually mutilate children.” Sorry that’s not a political debate, that has nothing to do with politics. What’s the outcome we’re desiring here? An androgynous population? Is that really what we are we arguing for?”
Fox News, on the other hand, has been becoming increasingly politically correct.
