A new report reveals cash from a notorious billionaire has helped two dozen leftist district attorneys across the country win election or re-election. Groups backed by this billionaire have spent millions of dollars since 2016. In tonight’s In-Depth segment, Church Militant’s William Mahoney looks at the woke DA surge, and some of its consequences.
In 2021, George Soros had a net worth of $8.6 dollars, having donated over $32 billion to his Open Society Foundations.
The Hungarian-born American has been long bent on controlling the United States and other autonomous nations.
A focus of the billionaire in the last six years has been helping to elect many far-Left district attorneys nationwide. This, according to a report from Capital Research Center, which traced at least $29 million in campaign donations to Soros-backed groups.
The Research Center report concludes the pattern of having these “woke” district attorneys in charge is clear: “skyrocketing violent crime, countless murders, little to no accountability, limited prosecutorial experience, a proclivity for scandal, and a tendency to unfairly prosecute political adversaries.”
For example, in 2021, on DA Larry Krasner’s watch, Philadelphia became America’s murder capital, with the highest homicide rate per capita among the country’s 10 largest cities. Krasner tried to deny the crisis.
Larry Krasner: “We don’t have a crisis of violence, and that is a category that includes gun violence.”
After fierce pushback, the Philly DA slightly walked back his comments, offering something resembling an apology.
Larry Krasner: “I did specifically say that we have a terrible crisis in gun violence in the city of Philadelphia. If you are aware of that, and if you are feeling that, then it’s hard, and my words unintentionally hurt people.”
In Manhattan, DA Alvin Bragg began his new term announcing he would downgrade some felonies — including drug crimes and armed robberies — to misdemeanors. Bragg’s policy triggered a petition to amend New York’s state constitution to permit recalls of officeholders.
Bragg joins a half dozen other DAs targeted in recall efforts, like Los Angeles County DA George Gascón, whom Fresno’s DA recently slammed.

Gascón, and the cronies, Newsom — they’re all the same. They’ve created this disaster by their disrespect of law enforcement. They are encouraging the illegal use of drugs; they promote zero-dollar bail; and most egregiously, they are continuing to release — Newsom is releasing prisoners from the state prison left and right.
And the list of Soros-backed DA disasters goes on, affecting regions from the North into the deep South.
Soros is a kingpin in the Culture of Death, trying to use his wealth to make criminals the good guys and freedom-loving Americans the bad ones.
Another Soros-backed DA is Chicago’s Kim Foxx, who dropped charges against Jussie Smollet in 2019. Smollet was the D-list actor who staged a phony attack on himself so he could blame white supremacists to make President Trump look bad.
