Germany has been been a hotbed of homosexual confusion in the Catholic Church, and now European prelates are doubting the Church’s teaching on same-sex attraction.
Church Militant’s Aidan O’Connor takes a closer look at a new open letter to a pair of confused cardinals.
A Pennsylvania priest is blasting two European cardinals for resisting the Church’s teaching on homosexuality.
Father Philip Bochanski recently penned an open letter to German cardinal Reinhard Marx and Cdl. Jean-Claude Hollerich of Luxembourg, urging them both to uphold Church teaching.
Father Bochanski wrote, “When each of us was preparing for ordination … we made a public profession of faith and swore an oath of fidelity. Your Eminences, I beg you, please be faithful to your oath.”
Cardinal Marx recently encouraged Catholics to doubt what the Catechism says about living a homosexual lifestyle.
Marx has a history of affirming so-called queer and trans Catholics, and championing Germany’s errant Synodal Way.
In February, Cdl. Hollerich claimed that homosexual sex is not sinful and the Church is wrong to condemn it.
Father Bochanski heads Courage International, an apostolate for Catholics with same-sex attraction.
Courage International helps individuals live chastely while struggling with same-sex inclinations.
Fr. Philip Bochanski, executive director, Courage International: “Men and women are oriented towards each other because their differences are oriented towards building a family, the good of marriage, the communion that they can create and the flourishing of family life, the life that they can bring in the world together because of their complementarity.”
In his letter, Fr. Bochanski warns the cardinals their homosexual error will cause great harm to the Church, the faithful and their own souls.
Father Bochanski’s mission draws a sharp contrast to the dissident New Ways Ministry — a group that encourages homosexual activity and discourages chastity.
