Reflections on life, meaning and purpose

Corporate Killing Machines

TRANSCRIPT

Soon-to-be Supreme Court justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and other leftists may not know what a woman is, but corporate America does. Many Fortune 500 companies and smaller popular businesses are vowing to cover their female employees’ abortions.

In tonight’s In-Depth Report, Church Militant’s Kim Tisor examines the growing list of employers looking to foot abortion bills.

As soon as bills restricting abortion began passing state legislatures, like Oklahoma’s pro-life Senate Bill 612 in April, companies like Yelp began announcing their pro-abort plans.

Alisha Haridasani Gupta, gender reporter, New York Times: “Yelp is going to be paying for employees to travel out of state if they need to get an abortion.”

Apparently, other woke companies admired Yelp’s decision.

Miriam Warren, chief diversity officer, Yelp: “When the news of our travel policy came out, many other companies reached out to ask how they could do the same.”

In early May, when a circulated leak indicated the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wadea host of companies began unveiling abortion benefits like travel and lodging expenses. Starbucks, Microsoft, Levi Strauss, Tesla, Netflix and PayPal were just some of the corporations to jump on the baby-killing assistance bandwagon.

When the Supreme Court finally announced its ruling Friday, the list grew. Walt Disney Company, Facebook parent Meta, Bank of America, Lyft, Uber, Zillow and Vogue publisher Condé Nast all agreed to offer some form of financial assistance. Other well-known companies offering abortion perks include Amazon, Apple, Kroger, Macy’s, Nike and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Catholic political commentator Matt Walsh quipped, “Abortion is an intimate and private decision made by a woman, her doctor and the multinational billion-dollar corporation she works for.”

Countless companies choosing to cover employees’ abortion expenses stand to save thousands by avoiding maternity leave. As of 2017, nationwide parental leave costs averaged more than $12.5 billion, according to right-leaning advocacy group American Action Forum. On average, an early abortion costs $700.

Again, Matt Walsh called paying for employees’ abortions so they can “get right back to their cubicles and not miss any time on maternity leave” the most dystopian thing he’s seen.

With the list of businesses clamoring to pay for abortions growing, many faithful are seeking alternative companies to patronize, those more worthy of their hard-earned money.

According to a recent YouGov poll, 51% of Americans say major companies should not take a public stand on abortion.
