While the U.S. bishops’ conference (USCCB) is ignoring Church law (canon 915) on worthy reception of Holy Communion, it has introduced a strategic plan for a eucharistic revival. With few exceptions, the American bishops have disobeyed that canon, allowing the Eucharist to be administered to fake Catholics like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi. Church Militant’s William Mahoney takes a deeper look at the USCCB’s strategy.

Recently named as Crookston’s bishop, Cozzens is the USCCB’s chairman of the Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis. Rhoades is Fort Wayne-South Bend’s bishop and chairman of the Committee on Doctrine.
The theme of the 2021–2024 USCCB nationwide strategic plan is, “Created Anew by the Body and Blood of Christ: Source of Our Healing and Hope.”
The three-year plan involves diocesan revivals in the first year, parish revivals in the second, and a national revival in the third.
Beyond their nice words such as, “celebration” and “joy,” critics wonder how there can be any authentic eucharistic revival when the bishops refuse to bar from Holy Communion public dissenters from the Faith, for example, Biden’s climate czar John Kerry.
One of the few bishops to enforce canon 915 is Springfield bishop Thomas Paprocki. The Illinois prelate does not permit his priests to administer Holy Communion to Democrat senator Dick Durbin.
Durbin recently declared, “I found another Catholic venue [to receive Communion] — the archdiocese of Chicago.”
And, of course, Chicago’s pro-gay cardinal Blase Cupich is more than happy to allow the fake Catholic senator to receive Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.
The revival plan outlines five strategic priorities, namely, evangelization; life and dignity of the human person; protect and heal God’s children; vocations and pandemic recovery.
One Catholic at Church Militant’s “Enough-Is-Enough” rally responded:
If these are the bishops’ top priorities, then preach the actual gospel, bar public pro-aborts from Holy Communion, stop covering up for homosexual predators in the clergy, stop canceling good seminarians and priests. And as to the pandemic recovery — well, they already blew that when they shut down Masses nationwide.
It seems like the U.S. bishops prefer writing flowery documents than actually addressing the root problem causing loss of faith in Christ’s Real Presence: them.
Today, the bishops held a closed-door meeting on so-called eucharistic coherence ― ditching their calls for transparency.
