A Trump-backed candidate who’s adamantly pro-life just might be the difference in tipping the U.S. Senate in favor of the GOP in November. Church Militant’s Paul Murano looks at this Senate seat in the Silver State and the larger context of the fight to control the Senate.
With the U.S. Senate hanging in the balance at 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans, every seat open this November is a big deal. One currently occupied by a Democrat — that might be flipped — is in Nevada.

Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto, the state’s first Latina senator, filled the seat vacated by former senator Harry Reid in 2016. In November, she will probably face Republican former state attorney general and pro-life advocate Adam Laxalt.

Although Cortez Masto has the state’s liberal establishment behind her, Laxalt, who raised $1.6 million last quarter, has a string of impressive endorsements himself. These include nods from Donald Trump …

[and] senators Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Mike Lee and Tom Cotton, and popular Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
Polls have Laxalt, an Iraq war veteran, neck-in-neck with Cortez Masto. Fox News and Real Clear Politics are calling it a toss-up.
Democrats are reeling from a battered economy and a president constantly bowing to the radical Left.

This could help Nevada and other battleground states tip the Senate scale for the GOP.
Other strong GOP pickup potentials for the Senate other than Nevada are in the swing states of Arizona, Georgia and New Hampshire.
