PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (ChurchMilitant.com) – New Florida legislation is successfully protecting innocent children from gay groomers.
A gay pride parade has been canceled and admission to a so-called Pridefest has been relegated to people aged 21 and older due to a set of bills addressing so-called gender treatments, children at adult events, and bathroom usage.
The group Pride of the Treasure Coast announced on Wednesday big changes to this weekend’s Pridefest:
As all of you know, the political climate that we are currently in has us all very concerned for our community. After multiple meetings with city officials, it is with a heavy heart that Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast has to announce that this weekend’s Pridefest will now be a 21 and older event. … We also regret to announce that we will have to cancel our plans to bring back our beloved parade.
The announcement continues: “The city has decided that with the likelihood that the Governor will sign the latest bill into effect this evening, that we will need to be on the side of caution and has required us to make this necessary change. We are obviously upset and dishearten [sic] that it has come to this.”
Florida’s Catholic Gov. Ron DeSantis has been outspoken on many woke issues, including the sexualization of children and so-called transgender ideology.

In a press conference last year, he remarked, “It is a disturbing trend in our society to try to sexualize these young people. That is not the way you look out for our children, you protect children, you do not expose them to things that are inappropriate.”
Last month, DeSantis’ team sought to revoke the liquor license of a Miami hotel over a drag show that admitted children.
Child-Protection Bill Blitz
In opposition to drag performances, the Florida House voted to ban children from adult live performances and gave the state the power to revoke food and beverage licenses of deviant businesses.
Also approved were bills that make so-called gender-affirming care for minors a felony and ban individuals from using bathrooms not corresponding to their sex. All restrooms must also be clearly labeled “Men,” “Women” or “Unisex.”
In yet another win, Florida’s so-called Don’t Say Gay law was expanded to insure all unapproved lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity are banned from grades K–12.
The three bills await DeSantis’ signature.
States Take Action
Many states are taking up the mantle of enacting legislation to protect children from sexually depraved men dressed as women in the name of “entertainment.”
Last month, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee became the first to sign a law restricting drag shows. The law criminalizes “adult cabaret performances” that occur on “public property or in a location where the adult cabaret performance could be viewed by a person who is not an adult.”
The law defines these performances as “a performance in a location other than an adult cabaret that features topless dancers, go-go dancers, exotic dancers, strippers, male or female impersonators who provide entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest, or similar entertainers, regardless of whether or not performed for consideration.”

The first offense would result in a misdemeanor, while any further offenses would lead to felony charges. The law is currently on hold per an order by a federal judge.
In February, the state of Arkansas signed into law restrictions on “adult-oriented” shows, which it declares shall not “take place on public property,” “admit any minor for attendance” or “be funded in whole or in part with public funds.”
Just this year, over 30 bills have been filed nationwide seeking to restrict drag shows.
Reports show that — in addition to what has been passed — at least Arizona, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia have sought some form of legislative restriction on drag or adult-oriented shows.
The pushback against drag shows and mutilation drugs and surgeries have been hot-button conservative issues since being nationally exposed by the likes of Libs of TikTok, Matt Walsh and others online.
