Pro-lifers converged on our nation’s Capitol Friday for the 49th annual March for Life.
Many in attendance were excited to be a part of history as they prepare for the Supreme Court’s decision on Dobbs v. Jackson.
Catherine Scczepankiewicz, student, Franciscan University: “I’m from Franciscan University, and I am here because I believe life begins at conception and deserves to be defended!”
One pro-lifer highlighted her own experiences as an adopted child and the importance that it plays in society.
Ele Winner, pro-lifer, VA: “It’s really important that we respect these lives. This is our future generation. People deserve to live a life that we get. Everyone’s life is worth something.”
Due to the sexualization of society, the role of clergy has become even more important.
Fr. Alexander Cadman, parochial vicar, St. Nicholas Church: “America has the most severe, the most horrific abortion laws in the whole world, and I think our court is really trying to bring us more in line with life — with life and liberty.”
On Catholic campuses across the nation, the pro-life message is an important one to convey.
Scczepankiewicz: “Some bishops could speak more about it but, when it comes down to it, I do believe, I wholeheartedly believe that, at the end of the day, what they want is for everyone to see that life begins at conception.”
There were numerous opinions on how the Supreme Court would rule on Dobbs v. Jackson.
Reporter: “So you don’t think the Supreme Court is going to overturn Roe?”
Leah Janson, West Point, NE: “No, I don’t.”
Reporter: “Why not?”
Janson: “The Devil is very strong.”
Some in attendance were a little more optimistic.
Isaura Muñoz, Roanoke, VA: “I have hope in it. To be honest, I see it hard, but I really have hope in it, and I pray it will overturn [Roe].”
A concert was held, and numerous guest speakers spoke on the importance of life before tens — if not hundreds — of thousands of pro-lifers marched to the Supreme Court.
At the Supreme Court, pro-lifers continued to voice their support for life.
