During the Pontifical Mass, which began at 9:30 a.m., Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta conferred the last two major orders on a total of 5 candidates:
– two 5th year seminarians received the diaconate: 1 Argentinian and 1 Mexican; and
– three 6th year deacons received the priesthood: 2 Argentines and 1 Paraguayan.
In his homily, the bishop elevated the greatness of the priesthood, as participation in the priesthood of Christ, showing the dignity which it confers on priests to be ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.
With this beautiful ceremony, this academic year ends with the magnificent fruit which constitutes the very purpose of the seminary, that of giving good and holy priests to the Church, through our Society of Saint Pius X.
Let us pray for these new ordained, in particular for the three new priests who will soon begin their apostolate, asking the hearts of Jesus and of Mary for priestly holiness, and that all the graces which pass through their hands may become a fruitful seed for the good of souls.
