Religious leaders in the Mozambican Province of Cabo Delgado reject the exploitation of religion to justify political violence and terrorism. The region is facing an islamist insurgency which has displaced over 800,000 people. Following a recent seminary, the religious leaders have issued a joint statement expressing their commitment to pray and work together for lasting peace in the troubled province.
