Tennessee Recruits Axed Cops

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (ChurchMilitant.com) – The Volunteer State is actively recruiting police officers from across the country who face the axe for shunning the vax.

Tennessee’s Gov. Bill Lee

Tennessee Republican governor Bill Lee released a video and accompanying statement Wednesday to entice “cops in New York all the way to sheriff deputies out in L.A.” to join his state’s highway patrol.

“There are many highly skilled law enforcement personnel who want to work in a state that doesn’t get in the middle of personal health decisions yet also provides for a wonderful quality of life,” Lee noted.

The governor agreed to pay all moving expenses for cops looking to flee states with restrictive COVID-19 mandates.

To help sweeten the proposal, the governor agreed to pay all moving expenses for cops looking to flee states with restrictive COVID-19 mandates who choose to join his force.

Police personnel working in New York City had until Nov. 1 to be fully vaccinated or else terminated. According to Police Commissioner Dermot Shea, only 34 officers missed the deadline and were placed on unpaid leave. However, there is an untold number more waiting to hear if their religious or medical exemptions will get approved.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio remarked earlier this month, “For the vast majority of people, of course the decision is no, they do not get an exemption.”

In Los Angeles, police officers have until Dec. 18 to comply with the city’s so-called vaccine mandate, unless they’re granted an exemption. The city’s police chief, Michel Moore, says 73% of its nearly 10,000 uniformed officers is fully vaccinated. That means there are 2,700 who, unless they become vaccinated or get an exemption, will be fired.

Other heavily impacted cities with leftist mayors at the helm are Chicago and Seattle. Seattle’s police force had been whittled down by several hundred after the George Floyd incident. It’s currently experiencing a loss of several hundred more, consisting of those who refuse to submit their vaccination status and are seeking a medical exemption. Four thousand uniformed officers in Chicago have refused to convey their vaccination status; the city placed a couple dozen of them on unpaid leave.

Last month, Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis — a Catholic — offered a $5,000 bonus to entice unvaccinated police to move to Florida.

He told Fox News the Sunshine State is “actively working” to recruit police officers who get fired over a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

“So, NYPD, Minneapolis, Seattle — if you’re not being treated well, we will treat you better here,” he added. “You can fill important needs for us, and we will compensate you as a result.”

Gov. Ron DeSantis — a Catholic — offered a $5,000 bonus to entice unvaccinated police to move to Florida.

DeSantis, a Catholic, has been an outspoken opponent of the Biden administration’s latest vaccine rule, calling it “unconstitutional.” Thursday, he signed legislation to protect Floridians from private businesses that attempt to impose COVID mandates.  He aptly signed the law while at a car dealership in Brandon, Florida as the cheer “Let’s go Brandon” has become a euphemism for rebuking Joe Biden.

Alaska’s Gov. Mike Dunleavy

Also in October, Alaska’s governor, Republican Mike Dunleavy, issued a message inviting police and corrections officers out of work due to imposed vaccine mandates to apply for jobs in his state.

“Alaska’s law enforcement community invites you to consider the 49th state, where we back the blue,” Gov. Dunleavy Tweeted.

In September, Texas’ Republican governor, Greg Abbott — a pro-life Catholic — said Texas would be “honored” to hire any U.S. Border Patrol Agents fired for resisting Biden’s vaccine mandate.

The Lone Star State leader also welcomed out-of-state organ transplant candidates who were denied surgery due to their unvaccinated status.

With a low cost of living, no income tax and rustic scenery, Tennessee’s Gov. Lee said he thinks of his state as “America at its best” and invites anyone interested in joining the Tennessee Highway Patrol to visit www.jointhp.com.
