On April 30, 1977, Fr. Marziac wrote : “I told Archbishop Lefebvre that de facto I was now practically a part of the Society of Saint Pius X; he was my superior and could ask me whatever he wanted whenever he wanted.”
On September 8, 1978, at the end of the annual 10-day retreat at Pointet, he wrote: “What will the future be for me? Monsignor will tell me.”
On February 11, 1979, Fr. Marziac celebrated his priestly silver anniversary in Ecône. Archbishop Lefebvre delivered the sermon.
August 8, 1983: foundation of the St. Curé d’Ars Institute. The Treilhou property in Caussade was purchased during 1983. The community took possession of the premises in January 1984.
On February 11, 2014, Fr. Marziac celebrated 60 years of his priesthood in Lourdes, under the direction of Bishop Bernard Fellay, then Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X.
On February 17, 2019, he celebrated 65 years of his priesthood in thanksgiving, and gave the sermon himself, wherein he recalled the role of scouting in his life as a priest, the influence of Mary and of the Cross on his priesthood.
Fr. Jean-Jacques Marziac piously died on Sunday January 9, 2022, in Caussade. The funeral Mass was celebrated on January 12 by Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais in the presence of about 20 priests and many faithful in the chapel of his Institute.
A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said in Paris, in St. Nicolas du Chardonnet church, on Saturday, January 22, at 10 a.m.
In August 1973 at the Ecône Seminary, Fr. Marziac attended a 30 day retreat for the third time. On October 7, 1976, on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, at Poligny in the Jura mountains, Fr. Barrielle told him: “Take the lead in organizing our retreats!” On October 11, on the Feast of the Maternity of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, it was Archbishop Lefebvre who asked him: “Yes, organize these retreats.”
