Fr. Patrick Briscoe, O.P., one of the organizers of the event, told LifeSiteNews that the pilgrimage was a response to the national eucharistic revival effort of the U.S. Bishops’ Conference. Fr. Patrick said the Dominicans wanted to promote a renewal of eucharistic devotion in a way that incorporated the charism of their religious order.
