Deception and disinformation abound in the contemporary world and often even represent the prevailing “scientific” consensus. The scientific community has proven itself to be one of the most influential forces in our morally corrupt culture. Its edicts are uncritically swallowed by people who fancy themselves “reasonable.” And, in turn, this blind faith has been weaponized by political and religious leaders who’ve realized that they can manipulate people by representing tendentious ideas as settled by the “experts.” But people who bend the knee to “science” with cult-like reverence are the same ones who mock as “superstitious” Christians’ perfectly reasonable and logical faith in God. It’s backward.
Modern man’s faith in the natural sciences is so unwavering that he will, at great personal expense and inconvenience, rearrange his life to conform it to policies that enjoy the favor of “experts.” And this is true even where he has no training or expertise that would enable him to vet, even on a basic level, the legitimacy or soundness of the initiatives du jour.
People in line to get the COVID shot
For instance, when Big Brother, under the auspices of the science establishment, told everyone to mask up, socially distance and even take an abortion-tainted COVID “vaccine,” most sheepishly complied. Four out of five Americans took the jab, despite the existence of little sound science to establish its efficacy. Let that sink in: 80% of Americans willingly took an experimental serum to ward off a disease that for most is not life-threatening.
Indeed, once the Centers for Disease Control approved the Pfizer-BioNTech “vaccine,” all the medical “experts” advised the masses to line up and receive it. Because of this scientific imprimatur, society all but mandated the vax — and the media hid information from the public that undercut the manufactured “it’s a miracle elixir” narrative. So Americans accepted the lie of “safe and effective,” and opened their veins to a laboratory concoction of dubious quality and provenance.
Anthony Fauci spearheaded the pandemic propaganda campaign, and he’s now mired in scandal and accused of lying about the origins of COVID. On top of that, he was apparently the man behind the decision to not recognize the effectiveness of natural immunity. Nevertheless, till the very end of the COVID debacle, a huge bloc of Americans viewed Fauci as a competent and trustworthy authority, taking his word as gospel, and hewing to it with filial devotion.
Between December 2020 and March 2023, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention received 19,476 reports of deaths among COVID jab recipients from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System — and world-renowned cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra believes the vax is to blame for the mortality uptick. “The primary driver ‘until proven otherwise’ of excess deaths is the mRNA vaccine,” claims Malhotra. In other words, the experimental shot doesn’t just have questionable efficacy; it’s showing itself to be possibly quite harmful. But hey, every faith needs martyrs.
Acquiescing to unreasonable and dangerous health advice is one of the best examples of modern man’s blind obedience. But unreasonable faith in scientific consensus extends far beyond COVID. Another sterling example of the phenomenon is today’s rampant climate-science conformism.
One of the core tenets of environmentalism is that carbon emissions destroy the climate by contributing to the greenhouse effect and heat retention. The “logical” solution, according to the environmentalists, is therefore to drastically reduce carbon emissions — which is a trojan horse for ushering in greater State control over virtually all aspects of the economy and for population control (read: reduction). The problem is, in the final analysis, the evidence is thin and uncompelling for the proposition that man-made carbon emissions are the driving force behind the earth’s recent warming trends.
That’s why the founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman, famously rebuked the theory on CNN back in 2014, saying, “Climate change is not happening. There is no significant man-made global warming now; there hasn’t been any in the past, and there’s no reason to expect any in the future.” Accord Neil Winton, who spent over three decades as a journalist with Reuters. Winton recently stated,
When I became Reuters’ global science and technology correspondent in the mid-1990s, the global-warming story was top of my agenda. Already by then the BBC was scaring us, saying we would all die unless humankind mended its selfish ways. Carbon dioxide … was the culprit and had to be tamed, then eliminated. I had no reason to think this wasn’t established fact. I was wrong.
Winton marveled that even though his press credentials afforded him access to the “world’s finest climate scientists,” none would “say categorically that the link between [carbon dioxide] and global warming, now known as climate change, was a proven scientific fact.”
Bill Nye the Science Guy
So when people like Bill Nye the Science Guy proclaim it’s a settled point that human activity is causing climate change, what they’re really asking for is belief and assent, a leap of faith. They’re peddling scientific fideism.
Most people, though, don’t question the narrative, and so they end up echoing the tenets of a creed by default. So we’ve arrived at a place where most Americans want more action on so-called climate change, and over three-quarters favor putting millions out of work in order to further the environmentalist agenda of “clean energy.”
God-given sex, one of the most basic realities of human existence, is also currently featuring in the culture war — and again, the scientific community has placed itself in opposition to truth, with the tacit assent of too many.
The narrative is that men and women can identify as something other than their actual sex, their biological sex. Worse yet, we’re told men and women can actually change their sex. “Men can get pregnant,” doctors tell us. “Men can have periods,” they say. And apparently, the budding recognition of transgenderism is a good thing, at least according to the “science.” Per the American Psychiatric Association, “Gender-affirming surgery can lead to long-term mental health benefits.” This is asinine, obviously. And it’s why people who reject their God-given biological sex are suicidal. In 2018, for example, a study published by the American Academy of Pediatrics revealed that just about 42% of “non-binary youth” say they’ve attempted suicide at some point in their lives. So, the APA’s assessment would be accurate only if it views suicide as a sign of mental health. But hey, trust the “experts.”

Approximately 40% of American adults believe that people can change their biological sex. And a majority favor policies advancing the trans myth. For example, 66% of American adults have no problem with transgenders serving in our military — and it’s not just the leftists; 43% of Republicans favor trannies in the military. Fox News hired Bruce Jenner, a fake woman, as a contributor and commentator. Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union, called William Thomas, the University of Pennsylvania swimmer pretending to be a woman, “she.” And the Conservative Political Action Conference annually promotes a drag queen at its conference. The lie is widespread, and it’s only gaining more traction. People believe intellectually what contradicts their own waking eyes.
How did we get to this point? Unreasonable faith. Several generations of scientific muggles, people with no means of fact-checking the “experts,” have been content to heed whatever the media portrays as the majority opinion of intellectuals.
Modern science is, too often, not concerned with reality; rather, it’s frequently preoccupied with upholding human narratives. The irony is that many people who blindly believe errant scientific consensuses that mass media grooms them to believe, openly and loudly mock well-grounded belief in God. We’re staring at a paradox.
Unlike faith in certain questionable scientific conclusions, belief in God is objectively reasonable. The First Vatican Council, for example, proclaimed that “God, the beginning and end of all things, can be known with certitude by the natural light of human reason from created things; for the invisible things of Him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made” (Dei Filius, Chapter 2). The Second Vatican Council affirmed the consonance of faith and reason, stating, “If methodical investigation within every branch of learning is carried out in a genuinely scientific manner and in accord with moral norms, it never truly conflicts with faith, for earthly matters and the concerns of faith derive from the same God” (Gaudium et Spes, §36).
In short, the Church holds that man does not need an ounce of supernatural faith to know God exists. Rather, man, with reason alone, can come to this firm conclusion. But scientism, in a sense, inverts this accessibility; that is, it requires man to have unreasonable faith in something of dubious veracity that’s beyond his pay grade to vet. It says the only way that man can know something with certitude is to trust the experts.
It’s often the irreligious who give their full assent to illogical scientific trends and absurd diktats. Atheists, agnostics and humanists were and are much more likely than Christians to get the experimental COVID shot. Atheists and agnostics are far more likely than representatives of other religious categories to believe that the earth is getting warmer due to human activity. And likewise, it’s the atheists and agnostics leading the charge against the immutability of God-given sex. Indeed, according to Pew Research Center, “A majority of religiously unaffiliated Americans (58%) say a person’s gender can be different from their sex assigned at birth, with atheists (76%) and agnostics (67%) especially likely to hold this view.” So the same pliable drones who believe a boy can become a girl because a Ph.D. said so, scoff at God’s existence.
The “science” behind the COVID “vaccine,” global warming and gender theory ranges from slipshod and doubtful to downright asinine. And the ideologies born of such quackery damage the good of the human person. These ideologies only thrive because man has chosen to let them; man has chosen to let himself be deceived.
It’s time to cast off false faith in the unreasonable declarations of “experts,” in the faculties of fallible and often dissimulating men. It’s time to get back to acknowledging God’s sovereignty. Secularists have already trained themselves to give religious submission of mind and will to the dysfunctional powers of this world. Despite their boasts to the contrary, they’ve already mastered the practice of blind faith. Now, they just need to cultivate reasonable faith — faith in God instead of men.
