Americans are being hammered by record-setting inflation. But one industry continues to thrive in this crisis: weapons manufacturers. In tonight’s In-Depth Report, Church Militant’s Trey Blanton is launching into the prophesied consequences of warmongering.
Investments in aerospace and defense industries are booming, according to last week’s Capital Market Outlook. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is cited as the catalyst for the Biden administration’s higher-than-expected increases in defense spending.
In American politics, powerful lobbyists, not the people, dictate policy. Few industries are as influential as weapons manufacturers, who own chicken hawk politicians.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.: “In bringing justice to the table, you’re going to have to suffer. There’s no way to bring this to heel without tremendous economic sanctions, without arming our friends in Ukraine.”
Freshman representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, an emerging firebrand in the GOP, responded to Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s plea for Congress to drag America into World War III. Greene notes it was chest-thumping politicians who dragged Americans into two decades of war in the Middle East who now are beating the war drum against Russia.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga.: “It’s time for a more level-headed approach to foreign engagements from America’s elites — and time we loosen the military-industrial complex’s stranglehold on our politicians and our policymaking.”
The military-industrial complex thrives off the ever-present potential for war. The industry preys on American patriotism to foment a steady stream of conflict.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower understood the nature of war, as a general in World War II, as well as the rising confluence of industry with the need for defense.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower: “In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists.”
Prior to the Second World War, civilian industry would pivot in times of crisis to produce the weapons necessary for the conflict. Since then, weapons manufacturing has become a robust industry. Globalist politics are also slowly integrating other pet projects into the military-industrial complex: pharmaceuticals and the climate agenda.
The Department of Defense’s budget for 2022 will feature over a billion dollars for the armed forces to combat COVID and so-called climate change.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower: “Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals.”
Conflicts are inevitable so long as communism and other violent ideologies exist. The best hope for peace lies in not provoking unnecessary wars.
Planned Parenthood is also taking advantage of the conflict in Ukraine by pushing to have abortion pills shipped to refugees in Poland, which is a pro-life country.
