Honoring a Pro-Abort

TRANSCRIPT

Pro-lifers in Massachusetts are outraged a Catholic prep school is honoring a pro-abortion member of sham-Catholic Biden’s administration.

Church Militant’s Aidan O’Connor takes a closer look at a new Catholic controversy in Boston.

A Catholic boys’ school in Boston is honoring, at its spring gala, a radically pro-abortion politician. Catholic Memorial is holding the ceremony on Friday. It will be giving its Bl. Edmund Ignatius Rice award to the self-professed Catholic Marty Walsh.

Walsh was the Mayor of Boston from 2014 to 2021. He is currently the U.S. secretary of labor in Biden’s administration. While mayor, Walsh supported the radical ROE Act — which allows 16-year-old girls to kill their babies without parental consent. The act was passed into law in 2020.

A coalition of pro-lifers is blasting Catholic Memorial’s decision to honor Walsh. Church Militant spoke with one of the group’s members.

Brendan O’Connell, president, Life Matters TV: “Catholic Memorial is using his name to fundraise, basically. I think that they’re awarding Walsh strictly on name recognition only because what he stands for is diametrically opposed to Catholic teachings.”

An alumnus of Catholic Memorial labeled the former mayor a “zealous proponent of abortion.” But O’Connell revealed Walsh’s name drew in a slew of donors and sponsors for the school’s event.

O’Connell will be joining other pro-lifers on Friday to protest outside the scandalous ceremony. Walsh, who promised to make Boston a sanctuary city for abortion, is now being held up as a model for young Catholic men.

Walsh also publicly praised a doctor who suffocated an unborn baby by compressing its umbilical cord — claiming the abortionist had “a devotion to doing the right thing.”
